Diane Hannan's career began as Director of Public Relations for the Pocono Mountains Vacation Bureau. As part of the Bureau's management team, she developed a department that positioned the Bureau as one of the premier tourist promotion agencies within the state of Pennsylvania.
She created a tracking mechanism that allowed the Bureau to asses where inquiries originated. She developed strategic public relations services, cultivated working relationships with the media, and created attention-getting campaigns including the ever-popular Pocono Snow Bunny.
Hannan began her own agency in 1978 landing the Lake Placid Resort & Hotel as her first client - working with them to promote the 1980 Winter Olympics. The resort served as the headquarters for the International Olympic Committee.
Hannan's firm initially focused solely within public relations for the tourism and hospitality industry. It quickly became obvious that her clients required an expanded portfolio of services so she expanded her services to include multi-media advertising campaigns, websites, brochures, newsletters, among others. She continued to grow the agency beyond tourism that included clients within a wide range of specialties along with non-profit agencies.
Diane is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Organizational Leadership and a certificate in Organizational Communication. She is accredited in public relations through the Public Relations Society of America and a member of their Counselors Academy. |

Leadership, and being an active part of her community, has always been a guiding force for Diane. She has served on numerous boards and committees including… chair of the Foundation Board of Pocono Medical Center, Merchants Bank, YMCA-Stroudsburg, Rebuilding Together – Monroe County, Monroe County Arts Council and Stroudsburg Business Association.
Diane's agency is the first public relations agency in Monroe County. It is also the first female-owned and operated agency. Always a staunch supporter for women, Diane is a charter female member of Kiwanis-Stroudsburg and founding member of the Pocono Mountains Chamber of Commerce Women in Business committee. She founded the Stroudsburg chapter of the nationally-renowned Executive Women's Golf Association and was nominated for its 2008 Businesswoman of the Year Award.
In 2000 she started the EWGA-Stroudsburg Founder's Award that recognizes an individual member for her efforts and dedication to the chapter. This award was used as a guideline for the national organization. She developed the Junior Golf for Girls program that provides girls in grades fourth through twelfth an opportunity to be introduced to the game.
In 1986 she was a Delegate to the White House Conference on Small Business – working to address issues of concern for small business owners.
Now located in the Knoxville/East Tennessee area, Diane continues her dedication to encouraging and enabling her clients to achieve their goals. |
